Transportation
Transportation generates one-third of Princeton’s greenhouse gas emissions and is second to our building energy use. It is important to prioritize the most sustainable and efficient travel models, walking, biking, and public transit above car use to reduce environmental impact and improve mobility.
Help your employees get to work sustainably!
Encourage walking, biking, and e-mobility

Support commuters with covered bike parking or storage. A locker room lets commuters freshen up before work. Outlets allow e-bikes and e-scooters to recharge.
As an additional benefit, if employees walk or bike to work, there will be more parking spots open for customers.
Support Alternative Transportation

Encourage your employees to learn about bus and train options, as well as carpool, carshare, and rideshare opportunities. Check out GMTMA’s programs and services to find the right solution for your business.
Install an EV Charger

Encourage EV drivers to spend time at your establishment by installing EV charging. New Jersey’s It Pay$ to Plug In program provides grants to offset the cost of purchasing and installing charging stations.
Don’t guess.
Ask your employees what they will use. Sustainable Princeton is happy to provide a Lunch & Learn event to local businesses to review the options and then distribute a survey to gauge interest. Please contact us to learn more.
