The development of the plan, led by Sustainable Princeton, took place during an 18+ month period beginning in late 2017 thanks to funding by a $100,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. More than 50 committee members with topic expertise, participated in working groups that focused on the five sectors of the Climate Action Plan: Energy, Resiliency, Land Use & Transportation, Natural Resources and Materials Management. Within the five sectors, the draft of the Princeton Climate Action Plan identifies 13 objectives and 83 action items, each of which resulted from extensive deliberation, stakeholder input, community consideration, as well as forecasting and data analysis.
Sustainable Princeton will engage the community in several outreach events to introduce the draft of the Climate Action Plan and encourage review by the May 31 deadline.
