Energy efficiency means reducing energy consumption while maintaining comfort and functionality to perform the same tasks in your workplace. To make your workplace more energy efficient you can schedule a Business Energy Assessment to identify areas for improvement. Whether you rent or own your business property you can get a FREE Business Energy Assessment!
Schedule a Business Energy Assessment
A Business Energy Assessment is perhaps the most important thing you can do to ensure your workplace is using energy efficiently, and that you aren’t paying for lost heat and cooling. During an audit, a technician will survey your facilities’s heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) systems, lighting, and refridgeration, to determine measures you can take to improve your workplace’s energy efficiency, as well as comfort and safety.
By ensuring your workplace is energy efficient, you can lower your monthly utility bills!
At the completion of the assessment, you will receive a detailed report that identifies the specific financial incentives that are available to help cover the cost of improving your facility’s HVAC, lighting, and/or refrigeration. The more energy-saving measures you decide to install, the greater your incentive and the long-term savings on your utility bill.

Building Benchmarking
Did you know commercial buildings over 25,00 sq. ft. must benchmark their energy and water usage? Building benchmarking compares a building’s energy and water performance against buildings of comparable use. Your monthly utility bills are submitted to a US Environmental Protection Agency database through a tool called Portfolio Manager. US EPA calculates a benchmark score of 1 to 100, 100 being the most efficient. By benchmarking and tracking the building performance over time, you can start to understand how to save on operational costs, attract better tenants, and increase the property value of the building. Building benchmarking is free & voluntary for everyone! Visit New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program’s website for more information.
Energy Efficient Appliances and Gadgets
What if we told you you could get the same result for less money? It’s true with the use of energy-efficient appliances and gadgets!
Air Source Heat Pumps

Heat pumps use electricity and a refrigerant system to move heat from one place to another, rather than creating it. They can also be used to cool in the summer by moving the warm air outside. Check out Better Buildings Solution Center for more information on how it works and PSE&G for rebates, incentives, and more!
Heat Pump Water Heater

Just like the heat pumps that are used to heat and cool your space, heat pump water heaters transfer heat from the air around it. An electric water heater generates heat itself which is less energy efficient than a heat pump water heater. Check out this guide from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for more information on how it works and PSE&G for rebates, incentives, and more!
Induction Cooktop

Induction cooktops use electromagnetic energy to directly heat cookware, offering faster, more energy-efficient cooking compared to traditional gas or electric stoves. Check out Rewiring America for more information on how it works, rebates and incentives, and more!
Smart Thermostat

A programmable thermostat can be set to reduce heating and cooling when you are closed. Take it even further with a smart thermostat, which can adjust temperatures automatically based on your behavior or be controlled from anywhere! Check out the PSE&G Marketplace for rebates and incentives.
